Enterprise Scoops NITA Supreme Award

Enterprise Inns has picked up The Supreme Award in the BII National Inn-keeping Training Awards (NITAs), the national training awards for the licensed retail industry.
The Supreme Award is given to the entrant in any category which, in the opinion of the judges, exemplifies excellence and best practice in training.

This year, the award was given to Enterprise Inns in recognition of the company’s hugely successful WILMA programme. The programme is designed to educate and inspire Enterprise retailers to ‘work on’ rather than ‘work in’ their individual businesses in order to develop viable, sustainable pub businesses that can Win In A Local Market Area.

Vicky Crossingham, Training and HR Director of St Austell Brewery and Chair of this year’s BII NITA judging panel said “The judging panel and I deliberated long and hard over the Supreme Award and selected our winner for the following reasons. Enterprise show great commitment to training and professionalism in its execution. WILMA has a big impact on the business showing real, tangible results. It combines soft skills with some real practical business advice which is tailored to the individual and shows great innovation.”

Enterprise Inns’ Head of Recruitment & Training, Peter Grieve said “We are of course delighted to have achieved this recognition for our WILMA programme and I would like to acknowledge the contribution of Clinton Horn of Exemplar Training who has been instrumental in the development and delivery of WILMA. Many Enterprise retailers, no matter what their level of experience, have already benefited from this exceptional business training.”

Nearly 700 of Enterprise’s retailers have now attended this highly effective business development initiative and many more are scheduled to attend the interactive two day programme over the coming months.

Former BII NITA Judging Chair and independent academic expert on the industry, Professor Conrad Lashley commented that “this initiative represents an example of the very best practice and a commitment to improved business performance through training. Fundamentally the program demonstrates a recognition that the skills sets of the company's retailers are key to the success of the business”.
